Radical films for tender futures.
Moving Dreams Studios is a London and San Francisco-based production company founded by visionary filmmaker Neelu Bhuman. Through unapologetically bold and emotionally rich storytelling, the studio spotlights the lived realities of trans and queer communities—particularly those of color—across the globe. Neelu’s work defies categorization, weaving together fiction, documentary, and experimental forms to explore race, gender, sexuality, class, and belonging with mischievous warmth and razor-sharp clarity.
Rooted in intersectionality, Moving Dreams Studios creates cinematic work that smashes bigotry, dismantles prejudice, and builds vital bridges across divided communities. Its mission is to forge deep connections that lead to trust, healing, and cultural transformation—while also engaging with the urgent challenges of our time, from environmental collapse to the crisis of democracy.
The studio’s impact has been recognized through highly competitive programs: Neelu is an alum of Firelight Media’s Doc Lab, fellow of Sheffield DocFest’s Queer Realities Directors Lab, two-time nominee of the Sundance Trans Possibilities Intensive, and a recipient of both the Netflix-backed Film Fund and BFI Doc Society’s Queer Now Lab—initiatives supporting bold, underrepresented voices shaping the future of storytelling.
